Pin Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a well-established process manufacturing organisation. This is a key site leadership position, responsible for leading the maintenance function across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, while driving improvements in maintenance planning, preventative maintenance, reliability and engineering performance.
The successful candidate will have significant experience within a process manufacturing or similarly complex industrial environment and will be confident leading maintenance teams, managing contractors and delivering continuous improvement.
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and development of the site's maintenance function. You will work closely with Operations and other departments to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and ensure maintenance activities are planned and delivered effectively.
- Lead and manage Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance teams.
- Lead the Maintenance Planner and Stores function.
- Develop and motivate maintenance personnel through training, cross-training and effective job allocation.
- Set clear objectives and manage performance through KPIs and measurable targets.
- Improve weekly maintenance schedule compliance and job planning.
- Reduce overdue Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Reduce breakdown and maintenance backlogs, ensuring discipline leads maintain effective control of their workloads.
- Develop and implement an effective spares management process.
- Improve site Stores management, stock control and availability of critical spares.
- Support the planning and scheduling of major shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Ensure the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is effectively utilised for raising, planning, completing and reporting maintenance activities.
- Ensure maintenance technicians are appropriately trained and competent in producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Manage third-party maintenance contractors and service providers.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives following equipment failures.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Manager or senior engineering professional with a strong background in process manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, power generation, energy-from-waste, paper or another complex industrial environment.
- Significant experience working within a process or heavy industrial environment.
- Several years' experience in a maintenance or engineering leadership position.
- Proven experience managing maintenance teams and ideally second-line management experience.
- Strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance, maintenance planning and reliability improvement.
- Experience using a CMMS / Computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
