To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents within a care home setting.
Care Workers are responsible for meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents, promoting dignity, respect, and independence at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care & Wellbeing
Assist residents with daily personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
Support residents with mobility, using equipment as required
Assist with continence care, including the use of incontinence aids
Assist in the care of the dying and bereaved, ensuring privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.
Care of pressure sores
Health & Safety
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to senior staff
Follow care plans and risk assessments accurately
Ensure infection control procedures and hygiene standards are maintained
Daily Living & Social Support
Support residents with meals, including feeding assistance where necessary
Encourage and assist with participation in activities and social events
Provide companionship and emotional support
Support residents in maintaining contact with family and friends
Use of hoist and moving equipment as appropriate to the service user (i.e. in and out of bed/wheelchair).
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
Carry out light domestic tasks (e.g., making beds, tidying rooms)
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of care given
Report concerns or incidents promptly to the appropriate person
Requirements:
A caring, compassionate nature and strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Right to work in the UK
At least 6 months experience within a care setting in the UK
