Pin Point Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Transport Operations Manager to lead operations at Port Clarence, with additional oversight of the Hebburn team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport professional with strong leadership skills and specialist compliance knowledge to take ownership of a key regional operation. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day transport management, maintaining legal compliance, and delivering exceptional service standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage transport operations across Port Clarence and Hebburn
- Lead, motivate, and develop transport teams to achieve operational targets
- Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including Drivers’ Hours and WTD
- Manage route planning and operational efficiency to control costs and maximise performance
- Monitor fleet and driver performance, implementing improvements where required
- Ensure safe and compliant handling of tanker and hazardous goods operations
- Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain high levels of customer service and operational reliability
Requirements
- Transport Manager CPC (Essential)
- Proven experience in transport operations management
- Tanker experience (Essential)
- DGSA / ADR knowledge or experience (Essential)
- Strong transport planning experience
- Excellent knowledge of transport compliance and legislation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
