Pin Point Recruitment is recruiting an experienced SMT Operator to join a well-established electronics manufacturing business based in Stevenage. This role offers an opportunity to work within a modern production environment operating advanced SMT machinery.
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire (SG1)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor SMT production lines, ensuring smooth and efficient performance
- Set up and run pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and solder paste equipment
- Perform visual inspection of components and completed boards to IPC-A-610 standards
- Identify and report quality issues from inspection, AOI, or testing processes
- Install and check electronic components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors
- Carry out hand placement of components where required
- Conduct routine maintenance on SMT equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality
- Support continuous improvement within the SMT department
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (AS9100 / ISO9001)
- Adhere to all health & safety and environmental procedures
Requirements:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or SMT environment
- Good level of general education, including Maths and English
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Good communication skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Patient, focused, and methodical approach
Desirable:
- Experience operating SMT machinery
- Knowledge of PCB assembly processes
- Qualification in Electronics or Manufacturing
