Role Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion. This includes ensuring all projects meet client expectations while achieving budget, schedule, and quality objectives. The role also supports tender activities, working closely with commercial, technical, and production teams to secure and deliver new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
- Manage and coordinate all internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, cost reports, and progress tracking systems.
- Prepare and deliver regular project updates, cost forecasts, and performance reports to senior management.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective or preventative actions as required.
- Maintain detailed understanding of contractual obligations, ensuring compliance across all project activities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and promoting repeat business opportunities.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and direction to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support tender and bid processes by contributing technical and commercial input where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, business, or a related technical discipline.
- Recognised project management qualification (Prince2, MSc, Diploma, or equivalent).
- Experience in project management within a bespoke engineering, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-disciplinary projects to time, cost, and quality targets.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, assembly, and testing processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in MS Project and other project management tools.
