Our services include emergency care, maternity, renal, urology, plastic surgery, cancer treatment, and children s community care.
They serve a population of around 600,000 people and work in partnership with leading universities to train doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Position Overview: β We are seeking skilled and compassionate Paediatric A&E Nurses to join a busy and dynamic emergency department. In this role, you will provide urgent and critical care to infants, children, and young people presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, triage, and deliver evidence-based interventions, ensuring every patient receives safe, timely, and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapid assessment and triage of paediatric patients in line with national emergency care standards.
- Delivering high-quality nursing interventions, including medication administration, wound care, resuscitation, and monitoring.
- Supporting children and their families through often stressful and emotionally challenging situations.
- Liaising closely with doctors, play specialists, and allied health professionals to deliver holistic care.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to safeguarding protocols.
What We re Looking For:
- Registered Children s Nurse (RNC) with active NMC registration.
- Proven experience in paediatric emergency, acute, or high-dependency settings.
- Strong skills in paediatric assessment, triage, and resuscitation.
- Up-to-date Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) or Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support children, young people, and their families in high-pressure situations.
- Sound clinical judgement and the ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
