We're looking for qualified and experienced HGV class 1 drivers for regular work on an ongoing Monday to Friday basis, completing night shifts.
Night Shift Location – Shepton Mallet BA4.
The role is HGV 1 night trunking role collecting palletised goods for delivery the next day.
Responsibilities
- Trunk run on behalf of the Pallet Ex.
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Supervise the loading of palletised goods.
- Plan route making sure pallets are strapped down correctly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- 2 years minimum experience.
- Proven experience as a truck driver with multi drop experience of palletised goods.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
You will need to complete a 2 hour induction and assessment before starting.
