Location: Croydon / Purley

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum

Our client delivers therapeutic residential care using an Intentional Parenting model for children with complex needs, including EBD. The service provides bespoke interventions to support young people through intensive support, mentoring, and relationship-based care.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Registered Manager, the Deputy Manager will support the leadership and day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and compliance with Children’s Home Regulations and Standards. You will lead staff, support Ofsted readiness, and promote a positive therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Registered Manager
  • Lead and support Ofsted inspections and conduct monthly Reg 44 visits
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff, including performance management
  • Ensure the home meets the Statement of Purpose and regulatory standards
  • Maintain high standards of care planning, safeguarding, and wellbeing
  • Support children’s placement and care plan reviews
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Promote a safe, positive living environment and community links
  • Provide on-call/out-of-hours support as required

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ/Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
  • Experience in a Deputy Manager/Senior role in a residential children’s setting
  • Experience supporting Ofsted inspections and Reg 44 visits
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Services (or equivalent)
  • GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C or above)
  • Must be over 20 years old (Ofsted requirement)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, Children Act & Children’s Homes Regulations
  • Driving licence
