Pimlico Banks are working with an innovative technology company developing complex, highly regulated products who are looking to appoint a senior engineering professional to take ownership of the electronics and software workstream. This is a systems-level technical leadership role rather than a hands-on software development position. You'll act as the technical authority across electronics, embedded firmware and software development, ensuring products are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with internal teams and external development partners, you'll influence products from early architecture and requirements definition through to verification, validation, regulatory approval and production readiness.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll provide technical leadership across hardware, embedded firmware and software activities, ensuring designs are robust, scalable and aligned with both business and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical ownership across electronics, embedded firmware and software development activities
  • Defining and reviewing system architecture, requirements and technical solutions
  • Leading external development partners and suppliers, ensuring quality, delivery and compliance expectations are met
  • Reviewing and approving technical deliverables including designs, testing evidence, traceability and release documentation
  • Defining verification and validation strategies and ensuring successful execution
  • Supporting design reviews, technical risk assessments and change control activities
  • Working closely with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Operations teams to ensure end-to-end product readiness
  • Supporting regulatory submissions, audits and technical documentation activities
  • Driving technical problem solving, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • International travel approximately 4-5 times per year
