The Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association (PIMFA) is the leading trade association for firms providing personal investment management and financial advice across the UK. Its members support individuals, families, charities, pension funds, trusts and companies, and play a vital role in people's financial wellbeing and the UK's economic growth. PIMFA works at the centre of policy, regulatory and political debate, engaging closely with government and other key industry stakeholders.

PIMFA is seeking a Senior Policy Adviser to lead work on operational policy matters within the UK wealth management and financial advice sector. Working within the Policy and Regulatory team, the Senior Policy Adviser will focus on areas such as operational resilience, operations tax, and the impact of AI and digitalisation on firms and clients. The role involves bringing their members together to develop practical solutions, shape collective positions and support the sector through ongoing operational and structural change.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead policy work on operational issues impacting the wealth management and financial advice sector.
  • Engage with members and stakeholders to analyse challenges, develop positions and shape solutions.
  • Convene and support committees, working groups and workshops, producing high-quality agendas and outputs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, government departments and industry partners.
  • Represent PIMFA at meetings, events, conferences and industry.
Key skills and experience:
  • Previous professional experience in financial services, consulting, legal, regulatory or policy roles.
  • Ability to translate complex policy and operational change into practical insight for firms.
  • Familiarity with wealth management or financial advice, or related operational issues.
  • Strong understanding of financial services operations or market infrastructure is preferable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence facilitating discussions and presenting to senior stakeholders.
