Overview
The Transitions Manager will join the Client Management Operations team and play a key role in supporting the European Transitions Lead and broader operations team. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing a wide range of operational activities related to portfolio events for EMEA discretionary accounts and funds. The role requires strong communication, project management, and stakeholder‑coordination skills to ensure seamless execution of portfolio changes and an excellent client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend meetings with Clients, Account Managers, Account Associates and Transitions colleagues to capture and document client requirements for:
- New separately managed account (SMA) setups
- Custodian transitions
- In‑kind transfer events
- Benchmark changes
- New market openings
- Trading counterparty changes
- SMA terminations
- New market approvals
- New trading counterparties or clearers
- New securities
Requirements & Qualifications
- We are seeking an exceptional candidate with deep operational expertise, strong client‑facing skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder transitions. The ideal profile includes:
- Bachelor's degree in a Finance‑related field preferred, with a strong interest in the asset management industry.
- Approx. 5–7+ years' experience in transitions within an asset manager or custodian; exposure to client reporting, valuations, cash flow management or market claims is beneficial.
- Experience in client relationship management and/or project management, with familiarity handling regulatory requirements and requests.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different internal and external audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving capability, and the ability to learn new processes quickly.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in IT skills, including intermediate Excel; coding skills are a plus.
- Naturally inquisitive with a desire to continuously build operational expertise and become a subject‑matter expert.
- Strong alignment with PIMCO's culture, values and collaborative approach.
- Proficiency in German and/or Italian is preferred but not essential.
