OverviewPIMCO is seeking a Regulatory Lawyer with strong investment management experience to join its EMEA Legal team. This role is pivotal in identifying, monitoring, analyzing, and communicating legal and regulatory developments across the EMEA region. The successful candidate will also support ongoing regulatory engagement activities.
You will be part of a high performing legal team that supports all aspects of PIMCO’s business, including:
- Portfolio management and trade floor operations
- European fund structures and global distribution strategies
PIMCO’s European offerings include fund ranges domiciled in Ireland and Luxembourg (UCITS and AIFs), and investment solutions across fixed income, asset allocation, ETFs, hedge funds, real estate and private credit.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory changes across EMEA
- Communicate regulatory developments internally and ensure timely awareness
- Support regulatory engagement with supervisory authorities and industry bodies
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess impact on products, services, and portfolio management
- Contribute to strategic planning and compliance initiatives
- Brief senior management on regulatory risks and opportunities
- Several years of relevant experience in investment management and regulatory change
- Familiarity with key European legislation: MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD and Securitisation Regulations
- Understanding of European legislative processes and regulatory institutions (e.g. European Commission, ESMA, CBI, CSSF, UK FCA, BaFin)
- Experience engaging with industry groups and supervisory authorities
- Proven ability to brief senior stakeholders effectively
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- High client service orientation and responsiveness
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Commercial mindset with a business-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
