Pilton Community College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in one of our newest educational provisions.
About the Role:
Over the last 3 years we have been developing a range of enhanced onsite provisions that aim to support a particular area of need. This, our newest provision, caters for pupils with significant cognition and learning difficulties whilst providing them with access to a rich specialist curriculum within a mainstream setting. You will be working with a small class of KS3 pupils, supporting all learning with them every day. You will assist the teacher and HLTA to deliver some foundation subjects through topic work for them during the afternoons. In addition, these pupils have daily access to outdoor learning on our school farm.
The role is open to applicants from both primary and secondary colleagues who have the relevant experience to support the fundamental building blocks of reading, writing and maths. The young people in the provision are likely to be working at around KS1 levels for much of their time in school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to be innovative, dynamic, and to put fresh ideas into practice in this popular, thriving school.
Our high expectations positively reinforce the highest standards of learning and behaviour at all times and encourage students to show respect for themselves, others, and the world around them. If you have the ability to inspire, motivate, challenge and support students to ensure they make good progress - we would like to hear from you.
This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure. The Harbour Schools Partnership require all applicants to be eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions, as we are unable to offer sponsorship/work visas. You will be required to provide proof of Right to Work at interview stage.
