Pilton Bluecoat Academy seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dedicated and supportive team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality catering services and creating a positive dining experience for pupils and staff across our schools.
Responsibilities
- Assist the kitchen manager in the day-to-day operation of the catering service, supporting the planning, preparation, cooking, and service of school meals.
- Supervise the mobile catering team’s delivery of meals between Pilton Bluecoat Academy and Pilton Infants' Academy, ensuring proper food distribution and equipment transport.
- Collect food from the kitchen and liaise with the Kitchen Manager regarding the daily menu, dietary requirements, and allergen information.
- Ensure meals are correctly packed, labelled, and maintained at the required temperatures during transportation.
- Unload and check food temperatures at the receiving site to maintain food safety standards.
- Support the cleaning of serving areas, washing dishes, and resetting dining spaces after lunch service to keep facilities tidy and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Organised, reliable, and flexible with a strong team-working attitude.
- Confidence in supporting and supervising colleagues when required.
- Commitment to high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
- Excellent spoken English with confidence and fluency.
- Ability to meet ad-hoc responsibilities as required.
