Due to sustained business growth and a competitive hiring market, we are looking for an Onboarding & Recruitment Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role with hybrid working available (minimum 3 days per week in our Bracknell head office). We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual at the start of their career, ideally with experience in a fast-paced environment such as construction, hospitality, or recruitment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the onboarding of new subcontractors, both Limited companies and self-employed, ensuring compliance with company health & safety policies and procedures
- Maintain regular contact with new starters, including site visits to gather feedback and follow up as needed
- Manage contracts, CEST assessments and IR35 compliance processes
- Coordinate DBS checks, Asbestos Awareness training courses, Right to Work checks and maintain accurate records
- Support the recruitment process by sourcing candidates through multiple channels
- Draft and post job adverts across recruitment platforms
- Pre-screen CVs and conduct telephone interviews
- Carry out proactive talent searches using recruitment tools and social platforms
- Attend recruitment and industry events, representing PiLON’s employer brand professionally

- Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Resilient and comfortable working under pressure
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills
- Warm and approachable personality, with confidence to be assertive when required
- Basic understanding of fair recruitment practices, EDI and Health & Safety
- Strong Microsoft Office and administrative skills
Desirable qualifications but not essential
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- CIPD qualification or interest in pursuing HR training
- Experience in construction, recruitment or hospitality
