Pill Sorted is one of the UK's fastest-growing healthtech startups — a digital-first pharmacy with a robotic dispensing operation, serving NHS and private patients nationwide.
Finance has been run by the founder plus an outsourced bookkeeping firm.
We're bringing it in-house, and this role owns it.
The job: month-end close end to end; monthly management pack and board financials; the forecast model (P&L, cash flow, runway, scenarios); and hands-on inventory and cost control — roughly two protected days a week physically in the operation, reconciling the stock ledger, spot-checking counts, and challenging anomalies with the ops team directly.
External accountants keep VAT and statutory compliance; you hand them clean data.
Who it suits
recently qualified CIMA/ACCA
(roughly 0-2 years post-qualified) or a finalist sitting final exams, hungry for a first full-ownership seat with direct founder and board exposure — and a clear route to Head of Finance as we scale.
Our vision is to automate everything that can be automated: as we grow, your team will not grow — your army of AI agents will, and you stay the one human who owns the judgement.
On the cost side we are driving the operation toward six-sigma precision; time-and-motion analysis is our bread and butter.
Required: CIMA/ACCA qualified or finalist; strong Excel and financial modeling (tested at interview); comfortable in a warehouse and pharmacy environment, not desk-only; commutable to Babraham (Cambridge / Saffron Walden / Haverhill / Newmarket corridor); eligible for a DBS check.
