Basic Needs and Support Services Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and organized Basic Needs and Support Services Coordinator to oversee and manage programs that provide essential resources, such as food, housing assistance, financial aid, and other supportive services. This role involves coordinating with community partners, assisting clients in accessing services, and implementing strategies to enhance program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee programs that provide essential support services.
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with community organizations, social service agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Assist individuals and families in accessing food assistance, housing resources, financial support, and other basic needs services.
  • Conduct assessments to identify client needs and provide appropriate referrals.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of services provided, monitor and analyze data, and generate reports as needed.
  • Represent the organization on community working groups/committees.
  • Organize outreach events and workshops to increase awareness of available services.
  • Advocate for policies and programs that support individuals experiencing financial or housing insecurity.
  • Supervise and support volunteers or staff members involved in basic needs programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and funding requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Social Service Worker Diploma or related field
  • Experience in case management, social services, or nonprofit program coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and public assistance programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community partners.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites and data management systems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Arabic, or other languages) is preferred.
  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver\’s licence.
