Piling Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Contracts Engineer to join our client’s Precast Ground Beams division. This is a hybrid role and represents an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to develop their experience within piling and precast foundation systems.
You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project teams, supporting the delivery of piling and precast ground beam packages from pre-mobilisation through to completion.
The successful candidate will assist with the engineering, commercial and operational delivery of piling and precast ground beam works, gaining hands-on exposure to live projects while being supported through structured development and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparatory works prior to mobilisation, including review of drawings, specifications, programmes and method statements
- Support monitoring of site performance, productivity and costs
- Assist in ensuring the correct execution of piling and precast ground beam designs in accordance with project requirements
- Participate in project handover meetings with estimating, design, commercial, procurement, plant and operations teams
- Support daily and weekly project performance reviews, helping to track actions and risks
- Assist in the preparation and submission of contract and technical documentation
- Support the coordination of approvals and design sign-offs prior to mobilisation
- Help prepare site documentation and communicate requirements to site supervisors
- Assist in the review of site records to ensure compliance with contract deliverables
- Support the management and close-out of non-conformances under guidance from senior staff
- Assist with recording variations and changes to scope, liaising with the commercial team
- Support cost control, forecasting and contract purchases as required
- Work closely with operations, design and commercial teams to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
About You
- Degree-qualified (or working towards a degree) in Civil Engineering or a construction-related discipline
- Some prior exposure to piling, ground engineering, precast concrete or site-based civil engineering projects
- Keen to develop technical, commercial and contractual skills within a specialist foundation environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
Qualifications
- CSCS card (or working towards)
- Interest in working towards professional qualification (ICE or Geological Society)
