My job Role Description The Operations accountant is a member of the finance team and will be responsible for the delivery of the monthly accounts for the business. The main purpose of the Operations Accountant is to inform, challenge and support the business in achieving its purpose through the provision and interpretation of key management information. You will take a lead role in ensuring the finance team development and delivery strategy is met by implementing, challenging and supporting team initiatives. You will deputise in the absence of the Finance lead, representing the business at review meetings and budget presentations. Skills and Experience Deliver accurate cost of sales performance reporting and analysis with variances to budget/forecast which are fully understood and effectively communicated to site management. Work with teams to investigate adverse operational variances and develop countermeasures. Work with departments on site to improve invoice FTPR and help with root cause analysis. Work with production managers to identify cost-saving opportunities. Take an active role in site projects to drive continuous improvements and meet site objectives. What You Will Need Recognised accountancy qualifications. ACCA/CIMA preferable. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Results driven, attention to detail with an eye for continuous improvement. Excellent communication & influencing skills with an ability to build relationships across a matrix organisation. Extensive knowledge of Management Accounting (preference is within a manufacturing organization). Proficient with Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel required. SAP and BI experience a plus.
