Machine Optimiser

We are currently looking for a Machine Optimiser to join our Production team at Pilgrims Europe in Bodmin to support production operations and ensure our lines run efficiently with minimal downtime. In this role you’ll play a key role in maintaining performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement on the production floor.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, with the potential to earn over £650 per week.

Shift Pattern

6.30am - 16.30pm Monday to Friday, giving you more time for yourself.

Contract Type

Full‑Time Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support smooth running of production lines
  • Carry out grill belt repairs and belt changes
  • Track and maintain belts and machinery
  • Repair and maintain equipment (including slicers, cookers, multivac machines)
  • Assist with blade guide changes and basic maintenance
  • Set up production lines and monitor performance
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
  • Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Work closely with engineers and production teams
  • Ensure machinery operates at maximum efficiency
  • Follow all Health & Safety and food safety standards
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
  • Operate equipment safely
  • Support team members and production targets
  • Assist across production lines when required

Skills & Experience

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mechanical experience/hands‑on skills
  • Knowledge of production equipment (for example Ishida, Multivac – desirable)
  • Understanding of maintenance systems (PPM – desirable)
