We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to assist the Canteen Manager with all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am - 14:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Manager in their absence and accept responsibility for day-to-day activities.
  • Ordering of stock, including raising/receipting purchase orders on SAP during Manager holidays or absence.
  • Continuously review menus.
  • Preparing and cooking food.
  • Assist with on-site events such as summer BBQs and staff Christmas dinners.
  • Participate in on-site engagement activities such as Free Breakfast Fridays and charity fundraising.
  • Assist with stock taking and product rotation.
  • Serve food and beverages.
  • Collect monies and operate the cash till.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors.
  • Report faults to the Line Manager for prompt resolution to avoid downtime.
  • Prepare buffets and refreshments for on-site meetings.
  • Comply with company health and safety standards, and ensure work areas remain clean and tidy.
  • Comply with food hygiene standards.
  • Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of legislation affecting staff catering facilities.
  • Previous kitchen experience.
  • Experience assisting the operation of a canteen kitchen.
  • Good verbal, written and numerical skills.
  • Well organised.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Friendly individual focused on customer service.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Experience with social media activities.
