The role of European Head of Ethics & Compliance is to implement and maintain a best-in-class compliance program for Pilgrim’s Europe. Pilgrim’s Europe is comprised of twelve trading companies including Pilgrim’s UK, Moy Park and Pilgrim’s Food Masters UK.
What will I be doing?
- Enhance and protect the company’s reputation by providing timely and high-quality ethics and compliance advice to all areas of the business, either directly or by engaging appropriate external advisers.
- Initiate, design, develop, maintain, and revise compliance policies and procedures, taking into account internal and external factors, new and emerging risks, and the global compliance program.
- Create and implement annual compliance communications and training plans.
- Prepare monthly reports on compliance performance of Pilgrim’s Europe and participate in monthly global compliance leadership calls.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, HR, Finance and other business units to develop metrics for identifying, measuring and testing risk controls and mitigation.
- Stay current and aware of industry best-practices and emerging risks to maintain a best-in-class compliance program.
- Attract, develop, direct, motivate and drive the performance of the Ethics & Compliance team.

What will I need to have?
- Highly experienced, (UK qualified) lawyer or compliance professional accustomed to managing challenging compliance issues in a complex multinational group.
- A proven track record in the compliance field for circa 8 years.
- Excellent ability to gather and organize information, organize and analyze it as necessary to develop appropriate options and actions.
- Commitment to the highest ethical and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently and accept ownership of issues, whilst also being part of a collaborative team with a single goal of establishing a best in class compliance programme.
