Pilgrims Risk Management Group delivers end-to-end security, risk and intelligence solutions to organisations operating in complex and high-risk environments worldwide. With over 25 years of industry experience, we support government, defence, corporate and NGO clients with tailored services including risk consultancy, AI and Cyber Software, manned guarding, secure transport, protective services, crisis response, and security training.
As we continue to expand globally, we are looking for an Account Manager to help drive growth across the Defence sector, with exposure to other industries as the role develops.
The Role
This is a commercial, relationship-led role combining account management and business development. You will be responsible for managing existing client relationships while also identifying and developing and closing new opportunities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and international partners to grow our profitable business, and ensure seamless delivery of services and long-term client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, primarily within the Defence sector
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
- Identify new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking and market research
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads and convert them into live opportunities
- Support proposal development, quotations and tender submissions
- Coordinate with internal operational teams to ensure successful service delivery
- Maintain accurate pipeline and CRM records
- Represent Pilgrims at meetings, events and client engagements in the UK and internationally
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in account management and new business sales
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Exposure to, or professional connections within, the defence sector
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Commercially minded with a proactive, results-driven approach
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and priorities
- Interest in security, defence, risk or international operations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
- Familiar with project management or CRM tools (e.g. Monday.com or similar) and confident managing work digitally
