Pilgrim Foodservice is looking for a Driver's Mate to join our Transport team at our Dewsbury Depot.
This is a physical delivery role working alongside an HGV driver on multi-drop routes.
You will help load and unload the vehicle and deliver food products to customers including pubs, restaurants, schools, hotels and care homes.
This role would suit someone who is reliable, physically fit and happy with early starts.
- What you will be doing
- Assisting the driver with multi-drop deliveries
- Loading and unloading food products
- Carrying stock into customer premises, including kitchens, stores and stock rooms
- Checking deliveries are accurate and completed on time
- Providing good customer service at each delivery
- Working safely and following manual handling procedures
- Helping keep the vehicle clean and organised
- What we are looking for
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit, as heavy lifting is involved
- Comfortable with early morning starts
- Able to work well as part of a two-person delivery team
- Good attitude and willingness to work hard
- Polite and professional with customers
- Flexible to work 3 days from 6, Monday to Saturday
- Must be aged 18 or over
Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, Delivery Assistant, Warehouse Operative, Porter, Labourer or in a similar physical role would be useful, but full training will be provided.

- Early starts from around 4:00am-5:00am
- Typical shifts are around 8-10 hours, depending on the route
