Salary: £27,884 per annum (+ 50% at weekends and all bank holidays)

We prioritise our team’s wellbeing by offering no split shifts and no late nights, allowing you to enjoy a fulfilling life outside of work. In this role you’ll be part of a small catering team that works in our professional kitchen to create meals for patients, their families and staff every day of the year, including using produce from our newly created kitchen garden.

Responsibilities
  • Use your catering skills to produce nutritionally balanced meals for patients, their families and staff, according to a daily menu.
  • Use your creative flair to cater for our various corporate and fundraising events.
  • Work in a care‑based environment, interacting with patients and their families and ensuring that everyone is fed and happy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues regarding special diets needed by some patients.
  • Provide supervision to Catering Assistants.
  • Ensure that all food prep is done to a high standard.
  • Be provided with training opportunities in connection to your role.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a professional kitchen or similar environment.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and/or relevant catering qualifications.
  • Flexibility as a team player who can work independently and with initiative.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Working Arrangements

This is a full‑time position based at Pilgrims Hospice Canterbury. Working days will be 5 shifts between Monday and Sunday. The successful candidate will be required to work early and/or late shifts, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:30. On‑site parking, a uniform and subsidised meals during your work day are provided.
