We are currently looking to appoint a compassionate and committed Senior Care Assistant to join our dynamic Care Team at Cumbria Emmaus House Care Home. The Senior Care Assistant role is vital in the residential care of older people, promoting their health and well-being on a personal level. Each of our homes and schemes are rooted in the Christian faith that expresses God's love through compassion and care. Our Christian background is at the heart of both our values and actions to ensure that the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs are met for all residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
  • Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty.
  • Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as assisting with bathing.
  • Support residents to eat and drink.
  • Get to know residents to comfort, assist, and give reassurance when needed.
  • Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.
  • Ensure residents' care plans are up-to-date.
  • Support our residents to remain independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.
  • Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.
  • Assist in the care at end of life.
  • Perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.

About you:

  • You need to enjoy working with older people and have empathy with them.
  • You will preferably have a RQF accreditation in Health & Social Care at level 3 or above.
  • You have experience working as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
