As an Assistant Manager, you will work alongside the Scheme Manager by providing a supportive and caring environment for our occupants while also ensuring that our staff team is supported. We're looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Dorothea Court in Bedford offers retirement living for older Christians and consists of five converted Victorian Houses providing 12 Retirement Living flats, 14 Assisted Living flats and a guest flat which is available for respite breaks or visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Scheme by promoting a loving and caring environment for occupants;
- Provide administrative and practical support to the Scheme Manager;
- Assist the manager with staff management, recruitment, record-keeping and administration;
- Respond to enquiries and arrange viewings for potential occupants;
- Lead and attend weekly devotions;
- Provide excellent customer service for visitors and manage guest rooms, including maintaining the diary;
- Perform other duties assigned by your managers from time to time that are within your capabilities.
About you:
- Administration experience in support services, ideally in a health or social setting;
- A positive attitude towards Pilgrims' Friend Society and its wider aims and objectives and are able to fully agree with our Doctrinal Basis;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, occupants, visitors, and external stakeholders;
- Able to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines;
- Can work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility as required;
- IT literate;
- Willing to be flexible in the working pattern and are prepared to participate in training and attend relevant staff meetings;
- Applicants must be evangelical Christians (This role has an Occupational Requirement to be filled by a Christian under the provisions of the Equality Act (2010)).
Hours: 24 hours across 3 or 4 days. "On-call" cover is required on a rotating basis to meet demands. Please get in touch for more information about working patterns.
