Armaghbr /??strongContract Type:/strongPermanent, Full-time (5 days on-site)/pp/ppstrongPurpose/strong/ppAs a member of the site senior leadership team the Technical Manager will have full responsibility for leading the full site technical team to achieve the food safety, quality and commercial targets set by the Site Director, and delivering outstanding customer service./ppstrongKey Responsibilities/strong/pp style=\”margin-left:18.0pt\”stronguHealth & Safety/u/strong/pul liUnderstand and implement the Pilgrims Europe Health & Safety Policy, Company Safety Rules and Statutory requirements applying to full site operations./li liWith the support of the Site Health & Safety and Environmental Manager ensure focus and control with safety being a condition within the site, ensure all KPIs and targets are cascaded down to all relevant units and met./li/ulpstronguTechnical- performance and KPIs/u/strong/pul liEnsure the site delivers on all technical FSQI targets ensuring that the company standards are maintained while also meeting the customer expectations./li liProactively lead the site plans and responses to customer complaints, ensuring management accountability to identify and address current or emerging trends of concern. /li liCascade targets down to all relevant units and ensure accountability across the operational teams/li liLiaise with all key customers as required to ensure business development and the maintenance of good customer relations./li liWork with commercial and customers to ensure product mix is right for the factory/li liSite lead on all customer audits, maintaining key audit rankings with BRC, red tractor etc/li liLead a technical team to proactively manage all food safety and quality issues at site to ensure fast resolution of concerns and issues/li liSupport in the delivery of Operational Excellence Gap Up targets, including improving production efficiencies, namely output, quality, yield, give-away, wastage control, labour optimisation, packaging and utilities and ensure conversion costs are controlled, cascading targets to unit teams as appropriate to ensure targets are achieved/li liDelivery of a technical site plan that is aligned with site business plan and company values/li liemBe the key point of contact for and build strong relationships with senior technical teams both internally & with the customer./em/li liemBe the liaison with the functional peers to ensure best practice is rolled out throughout the business./em/li liemMaintain visibility of NPD/process trial plans at supplying sites and monitor progress towards launch – ensuring right first time product launches and satisfied customer./em/li liemIdentify and deliver cost savings initiatives that benefit both the customer and Pilgrims Europe/em/li liKeeping up to date with relevant welfare and technical legislation, focussing on common areas for collaborative lobbying with the customer to deliver changes at pace./li liEnsure the site achieves non-attendance targets set for the year, ensuring focus is maintained and best practice is carried out by all management colleagues./li liDeploy the Technical Pillar into the site./li/ulpstronguPeople/u/strong/pul liDevelop a culture where employee engagement and communication are promoted and actively delivered. Ensure the FSQMs (and their respective teams) use the key tools for improving Employee Engagement e.g. cockpit meetings, SIC and Shift Reviews in an effective manner./li liDevelop, train, coach and motivate technical personnel as necessary ensuring release for key training. Support integrating Technical, Engineering, Planning, Learning and Development, Procurement, Process Development and services to create a focused business unit./li liComplete Team members appraisals and provide feedback on their performance on a regular basis./li liWork with Site HR Business Partner to ensure the factory succession plan is maintained for key management and site critical roles/li liReview operational management structures to ensure they are aligned to business needs, ensuring capability and team fit is present./li/ulp style=\”margin-left:18.0pt\”stronguOperational Excellence./u/strong/pul liAssist with ensuring a structured approach to OPEX is in place across the factory, ensuring that all teams use the appropriate Pilgrims tools and techniques./li liEnsure an improvement action plan is in place across the factory and these are tracked accordingly to ensure full execution so as to enhance business performance and become best in industry. /li liEvaluate, utilise, deploy and embed a range of Operation Excellence and lean techniques to deliver best in class performance which can be measured through the financial performance of the factory and in line with Profit Improvement Plans (PIP). /li/ulp style=\”margin-left:18.0pt\”stronguEnvironment/u/strong/pul liOptimise energy usage, looking at opportunities for energy reduction and carbon footprint reduction./li liMonitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from the processes within area of responsibility/li/ulpstrongSkills & Knowledge/strong/pul liProven senior management and leadership experience within a FMCG manufacturing environment./li liProven people management experience i.e. managing a team through effective use of performance reviews, coaching, training and disciplinary procedures as required./li liChange agent; ability to demonstrate a track record of delivering sustainable change initiatives and results./li liProven track record of achievement in technical and food safety./li liExcellent communication skills; ability to liaise with varying stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external./li liComputer literate./li liExcellent interpersonal skills./li liSelf-motivated./li liSignificant and innovative problem solving skills./li liCommercial acumen./li liExcell/li/ul
