We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader in Butchery, to be part of the Primal Cut Departmental Management Team with shared responsibility for production and technical/specification performance of the Primal Cut Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocation of work to employees in the Primal Cut Department
- Report and resolve machine issues quickly, advising the Engineering Department of work requirements
- Ensure product is produced within specification
- Carry out routine inspection of your area and any equipment in your charge and report any maintenance requirements, deficiencies or recommendations for improvements.
The job holder will have signed the Westerleigh Quality and Food Safety Contract which will be an appendix to this role profile. This will be reviewed and signed annually.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the department and relevant regulations applicable from both internal and external sources
- Knowledge of products, processes and procedures within relevant area
- Commercially aware with some understanding of unit costs/yields
- Knowledge of all relevant H&S procedures and requirements
- Safety Level 2 Recognised qualification
- Food/certificate of competence in meat processing (e.g. NVQ)
