The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To assist the Manager in the smooth, efficient, economic daily operation of the hatchery, ensuring at all times cost effective utilisation of labour and resources.

To maintain and improve standards of hatcheries, chick quality, hygiene, chick welfare and overall hatcheries performance.

To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.

Contribute to that department by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.

Organising daily work routines, working with and controlling hatchery assistants such that targets and objectives are achieved.

Maintain and monitor the hygiene programme, ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the hatcheries are kept to required standards.

Develop and maintain a sound working knowledge of all hatchery equipment.

To ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to within your areas of responsibility, maintaining a safe working environment for all people at all times.

To ensure staff within your area of responsibility is trained so that they can perform their duties effectively and efficiently at all times.

To ensure within your area of responsibility all aspects of animal welfare are understood and upheld fully, particularly when handling chicks.

To ensure the necessary attention is given to all aspects of hatchery operation which may affect hatchability and chick quality, such that performance is maximised.

To report immediately to the Manager / Assistant Manager any occurrence, which could affect hatchery performance relating to product, equipment or labour.

To contribute positively to good communications between all levels of management and operatives so that people are motivated and aware of all issues relating to their work.

To advise or recommend any improvements to work methods in order that productivity, performance or economy of the operation can be maximised.

To provide cover for management teams holidays/sickness, etc. as required such that the required levels of management in the hatchery are maintained.

Assist the management to achieve high HACCP and ACP standards.

Assist with standby alarm cover as required.

To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
