We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Roast and Smoke team as a Cooking Operative at Corsham. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced food production environment, where you will play a key part in ensuring products are cooked, handled, and processed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for checking quality and transporting cooked material to the blast chillers and monitor temperatures. They will also be responsible for controlling Critical Control Points (CCPs) by ensuring products are prepared and cooked to customer requirements within a set time frame.
Key Skills:
- Loading and unloading cookers
- Loading and unloading blast chillers
- Stock rotation of blast chillers
- Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork
- Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and chilling processes
- Roasting and smoking (further processing) of products
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth production flow
- Follow all health & safety procedures and site policies
- Other duties as required
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience of operating large cookers (advantageous)
- Methodical
- Well organised
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Experience in food production or manufacturing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Flexible to work rotating day and night shifts
- Strong understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards
