We're looking for an experienced and technically strong Production Engineer – Yield / Butchery / NPD to join Pilgrim's Europe. This is a specialist role within our pork operations, focused on yield optimisation, raw material performance, new product development and technical system accuracy. You'll act as the link between Fresh Pork abattoirs and further processing sites, ensuring carcass balance, recipe build integrity and product data accuracy are delivered to the highest standard.
The Role
- Act as the key link between Fresh Pork abattoirs and further processing factories on raw material optimisation
- Lead and support NPD requests, including sampling, product setup and yield validation
- Manage EPD and OPEX requests
- Take functional ownership of product setup and data integrity within Innova
- Ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), yields, weights and processes are configured within SAP, Innova and P74
- Maintain label management processes
- Support butchery demonstrations and shop floor activity
- Maintain butchery processes within the QUOR system and support specification writing
- Provide hands-on factory support and cross-functional collaboration
This role combines technical expertise, systems management and practical factory engagement.
What We're Looking For
- Expert pork butchery and product knowledge
- Strong understanding of carcass balance and meat functionality
- Experience managing complex recipe builds and product configurations
- 5–10 years' experience working in an abattoir environment
- Educated butcher or slaughterman qualification
- Experience working with ERP/shop floor systems (ideally SAP & Innova)
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- A hands-on, detail-oriented and practical mindset
- The ability to implement improvements effectively on the shop floor
