Location: Anwick

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, rotating days and nights.

Hours:

  • Days: 05:30 - 17:30
  • Nights: 17:30 - 05:30

Purpose of the Role:

To provide an effective engineering service to the production team, responding to demands promptly. You will maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure factory performance meets targets and KPIs. The role focuses on improving equipment availability and performance to meet OEE targets through identifying and implementing improvements. You will also proactively use the PPM system (SAP) for capturing all engineering labour and parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond quickly and safely to all plant stoppages and breakdowns.
  • Maintain and adjust equipment, carrying out repairs and servicing for optimum performance.
  • Perform planned maintenance within your competence.
  • Fault-find and repair machines, working with single and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and meets product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering leadership team and external engineers for complex issues.
  • Comply with Health & Safety rules (including COSHH) and promote safe working practices.
  • Assist in training and assessment of staff on machine operation.
  • Complete accurate documentation and report non-conformances promptly.
  • Use the PPM system (SAP) for recording labour and parts.

KPIs:

  • Completion of PPM paperwork and delegated tasks.
  • First-time fix rate for breakdowns.
  • Safety observations per week (BSO).

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and follow company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Use Lock Out / Tag Out (LO/TO) system at all times.
  • Wear protective clothing and report hazards, defects, and incidents promptly.
  • Cooperate in accident investigations and promote safe behaviour.
  • Assist with training new starters and apprentices.
  • Actively seek to reduce environmental impact (e.g., waste reduction, recycling).

Skills & Knowledge (Essential):

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (UK-recognised).
  • Literacy/Numeracy to National Level 2 Standard.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act decisively and deliver quality work.
