The Research & Data Specialist will be crucial in ensuring that projects are managed well and adhere to agreed milestones, budgets, and reporting requirements. The funding for these projects can be from internal budgets or from external funding sources such as Horizon Europe, Innovate UK, and Invest Northern Ireland. Therefore, a key part in this role is liaising with external academic institutions and businesses to build and maintain effective relationships. This role is also critical in compiling the R&D claim across a wide number of internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising and compiling the R&D tax claim with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring timely reporting of required documentation for externally funded projects
  • Compilation of routine business reporting requirements
  • Attend external meetings and events on behalf of the business and report on key messages
  • Develop and maintain existing strategic relationships both internally and externally
  • Assist with ongoing trials where appropriate
  • Assist with the overall running of the R&D department
  • Compiling and reporting required information for funded projects
  • Compiling and reporting required information for R&D tax credits
  • Demonstrate good working relationship with key internal stakeholders
  • Compile routine business reports

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work on own and within multi-disciplinary groups - both internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Project co-ordination experience, managing budgets, timelines, meeting project targets
  • Ability to present key project milestones within a consortium group
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Clean full driving licence
  • Focus on meeting personnel KPI's and departmental KPI's

  • Experience working within a farm or factory environment
  • Degree in a science discipline
