We’re looking for a QA Assistant to join our Technical team at our Spalding site. This is a factory-based role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the site is always audit ready, while driving best practice in food safety, quality and legality across production. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for production-based quality issues and a vital support to the wider Technical function.
The Role
- Support the factory in maintaining continuous audit readiness
- Drive food safety, quality and legal compliance across the production environment
- Act as the first point of contact for quality issues on the factory floor
- Carry out product inspections, temperature checks and quality monitoring
- Generate and maintain departmental compliance KPIs
- Own and manage quality documentation, records and traceability paperwork
- Conduct internal audits, sample swabbing, shelf-life sampling and micro testing (as required)
- Complete verifications and validations of QMS procedures
- Support daily calibration activities
- Build effective working relationships with Operational staff, OVs and Meat Inspectors
- Actively promote Health & Safety and report any unsafe or out-of-specification products or materials
Quality and Food Safety are everyone’s responsibility, and you’ll play a visible role in reinforcing this across the site.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous QA experience within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment
- Good meat and/or product knowledge
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- The confidence to challenge standards and elevate issues when required
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and the ability to work well in a fast‑paced factory environment
