Job Purpose
To lead and monitor the hygiene team during factory cleaning operations, ensuring all equipment meets required standards. Uphold and enforce company policies relating to health, safety, hygiene, and housekeeping. Manage HR-related matters within the team and represent the company during audits and visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hygiene operations and ensure cleaning standards are met.
- Take immediate action on cleaning issues and provide feedback to the Hygiene Manager.
- Maintain and update cleaning schedules and associated paperwork.
- Deliver hygiene training and ensure team compliance with PPE and approved working methods.
- Ensure team members follow hygiene and dress code policies.
- Maintain accurate Time & Attendance records.
- Represent the company during audits and external visits.
- Support environmental initiatives such as waste reduction and recycling.
- Perform a variety of roles within the team and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Undertake on-the-job training and support team development.
- Ensure safe working practices and report any hazards or equipment defects.
- Conduct Health & Safety audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the team\βs work area.

- 100% completion of daily safety and hygiene start-up checks
- Weekly swabbing results meeting required standards
- High pass rate for operatives\β probationary periods
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Understand and implement Pilgrim\βs Europe Health & Safety Policy and statutory requirements.
- Ensure safe systems of work are developed and followed.
- Check machinery safety and report defects immediately.
- Ensure protective clothing and equipment are used correctly.
- Maintain emergency procedures and ensure team awareness.
- Take remedial action on reported Health & Safety issues.
- Cooperate with Safety Representatives on Health & Safety matters
Essential
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Good level of English (especially for EAL candidates)
- Hardworking and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
- People management experience
