We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am - 14:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Manager in their absence.
  • Accept responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day activities.
  • Ordering of stock including raising/receipting POs on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence).
  • Continuously review menus.
  • Preparing and cooking of food.
  • Assist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner.
  • Participate in on-site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Fridays / charity fundraising.
  • Assist stock taking and product rotation.
  • Serving of food and beverages.
  • Collect monies and operate cash till.
  • Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors.
  • Report faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stock.
  • Prepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetings.
  • Comply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Comply with food hygiene standards at all times.
  • Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Keeps up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilities.
  • Previous kitchen experience.
  • Previous experience assisting the running of canteen kitchen.
  • Good verbal, written and numerical skills.
  • Well organised.
  • A team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Friendly individual with focus on customer service.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Social media activities.
