FARM MANAGER REQUIRED - Green Lane
This role is a 5 from 7 shift pattern, with a 6th as required, covering 48 hours a week.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Manager to join the team, who if not already, will become an eggspert of poultry in Pilgrims Europe! We have an opportunity for an experienced Broiler Farm Manager to join our Broiler team. The successful candidate will provide overall responsibility of the Broiler Farm, including all aspects of husbandry, ensuring all stock produced is of the highest possible standard and meets the required specification in terms of weight, quality, health & safety, welfare, etc. encompassing commercial and financial aspects of the farm, which involves working to financial and physical budgets, and where appropriate, the management and development of a team of people.
Maintaining the professional integrity and appearance of the farm and dwellings at all times will also be required. With animal welfare being at the forefront, you will ensure all health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to and that the Farm staff are able to carry out their daily duties. You'll be responsible for managing and monitoring environmental systems, feed, water, and ventilation systems within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality environment so that the birds can thrive.
Organised and IT literate, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to the birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring that an adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels, including management of alarms, which may require call outs.
With previous experience in a similar role, you will be a sound decision maker, who can work autonomously. You'll ideally have supervisory and people management skills and will be able to coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure the continuous working of each farm. You will also need to complete the Level 3 qualification Poultry Passport, but ideally you will already hold this. The successful candidate will ‘live' Welfare as a Condition in all that they do. We're looking for individuals who can work autonomously and enjoy a ‘hands-on' role in a farming environment. A keen interest in farming, where animal welfare is of the utmost importance will mean that you match our values and your passion for learning will ensure that you can continue to acquire new skills.
