We are looking for a Machine Minder to join our Production team at Pilgrim's Europe. In this role, you will ensure the smooth running of production machinery, maintain high quality standards, and support the day-to-day efficiency of the manufacturing process. You will work closely with colleagues, supervisors, and the maintenance team to keep production on track and equipment in excellent condition.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the maintenance department to report any faults/maintenance issues with machinery
  • To adjust machines to obtain high performance and yield analysis
  • Change blades/heads and correct settings
  • Carry out daily yield tests
  • Maintain high performance of machines
  • Inspect and maintain product holders on a daily basis
  • Sign off checklist and record faults and changes made
  • Start up and checks carried out during the day:
    • Check that all lines are running properly
    • Check that all conveyor belts are running correctly
  • Changing blades/Heads - Standards of performance are met when Blades/Heads are changed according to work order schedule
  • Tools and equipment used are monitored and recorded daily on Process Control Sheets - Standards of performance are met when: Equipment is signed out at start of shift and signed in at major break.
  • Any other duties that may be requested by the Manager

Health / Safety Responsibilities:

  • Take reasonable care of the Health and Safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions.
  • Work in a safe manner and observe the Company Health and Safety Rules and Procedures.
  • Use the protective clothing and equipment provided.
  • Report to your Line Manager any incidents that have led to or could have led to injury or an accident or have affected the environment.
  • Report all injuries promptly that occur to yourself at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.
  • Cooperate with Managers and other personnel of the Company to achieve a healthy and safe workplace environment.
  • Help in the investigation of accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
  • Observe the Company personal hygiene requirements.
  • Set an example of safe, correct behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.
  • Report any hazard/defect you may observe promptly to your immediate line manager.
  • Report any shortcomings in systems of work or procedures to your line manager.
  • Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare of yourselves or your work colleagues.
  • To comply with safe systems of work at all times.
  • To advise managers when not trained for tasks you are being asked to carry out.

  • Working hours are as a part of Team C: Monday - Friday 18:00pm - 02:15am

Essential:

  • Able to communicate, read and write in English
  • Minimum 6 months basic mechanical experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Genuine interest in maintenance operations
  • Willing to learn and flexible
  • Good manual dexterity

  • Evidence of ability to complete and understand paperwork
  • Previous experience of making adjustments to industrial machinery
