There are 2 x positions available. This role is Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week, £14.20ph.
To carry out the day-to-day activities associated with the running of Moy Park Navenby Mill, to ensure that it runs safely and efficiently meeting all required standards and targets.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mill equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Assist in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to prevent breakdowns and improve reliability.
- Work with engineers and supervisors to install new equipment and upgrade existing systems.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely, adhering to company policies and health & safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, and repairs.
- Monitor stock levels of spare parts and consumables, reporting any shortages.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow company procedures for reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents.
- Ensure all pallets are correctly labelled before being put into stock.
- Keep accurate records of stock movements as required.
- Rotate stock to ensure oldest stock is used up first.
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues as required.
- Report any health and safety issues to your immediate manager.
- Any other duties that are required.
- Provide cover for Operatives on shifts during absences.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a mill or industrial setting.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and occasional overtime.
- Good numeracy and literacy levels.
- Full clean driving licence.
- A relevant qualification in engineering, maintenance, or a related field is desirable.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, or forklift operation would be an advantage.
