Working 4 on 4 off starting at 8pm, 12 hour shift. Must have C+E Class 1 licence with no more than 6 points.

Under the direction of the Transport Manager, deliver Feed and collect Raw Materials in accordance with the Daily Transport Sheet, to the standards laid down by the Transport Manager. In your job you will liaise with Mill operatives, other Charge hands, Maintenance staff, Drivers, Cleaning staff, Raw Material Department staff, Farm managers, Anwick Garage staff, Office staff, and the Mill Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
  • Ensure full compliance with Moy Park procedures and Department of Transport legislation.
  • Ensure that all vehicles and trailers are loaded in a safe manner for transit by securing loads & checking pre‑loaded trailers as far as is practicably possible.
  • Ensure that all goods distributed via Moy Park Distribution are delivered to the correct place, in the correct condition, at the correct time. Transport or relevant office should be notified as soon as possible, should this not be achievable.
  • To drive your vehicle in a safe and courteous manner at all times, whilst wearing appropriate company uniform & remaining within legal speed limits.
  • Ensuring high standard of personal conduct whilst on customer sites, and abiding by all site rules as applicable.
  • Ensure all temperature settings on vehicles and trailers are to the correct setting at the commencement of the journey. Temperature should be checked before commencement of the journey, half way through and 10 minutes before arrival at the delivery point.
  • Confidentiality of Moy Park and customer information must be maintained at all times.
  • To ensure that your vehicle is cleaned both inside and out to the highest standard on return to base at the end of every shift.
  • To follow all Company bio security protocol.
  • To follow all Moy Park policies & procedures as listed within their driver handbook and other relevant communications from their line managers.
  • To adhere to all codes of practice on animal welfare.
  • To feedback to management as soon as practicably possible about any risks regarding Health and Safety.
  • Inspect every vehicle and trailer for damage and defects at the start of every shift, filling out defect forms regardless of whether the vehicle has a defect or not as Moy Park operate a nil defect policy.
  • Report any apparent or developing defect as soon as possible and certainly no later than return to base.
  • Be fully conversant with all D.O.T legislation ensuring all necessary documents and records are returned in a timely and correct manner.
  • To be conscious of public relations and the image of the company, such that all vehicles are driven to aid the presentation of the company to customers, other road users and general public.
  • To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
