We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Supervisor to lead on-shift engineering operations, driving equipment reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across our site. You'll play a key role in supervising a multi-skilled team, ensuring fast response to breakdowns, strong preventative maintenance, and full compliance with safety and food standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and support a team of engineers across Abattoir, Butchery & Site Services
  • Drive a culture of proactive maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Ensure quick and effective response to breakdowns, minimising downtime
  • Monitor and deliver KPIs including downtime, PPM, and work order completion
  • Oversee daily engineering service sheets and shift performance
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards
  • Manage contractor control, permits and on-site activity
  • Support audits and deliver associated action plans
  • Lead shift briefs and ensure strong communication across teams
  • Act as a key point of contact on shift and deputise for the Engineering Manager

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Apprentice trained with a recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an FMCG or chilled manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience supervising or leading engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of PPM systems, plant reliability and downtime reduction
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, safe systems of work and contractor control
  • IT literate (experience with systems such as Holistech beneficial)

Desirable:

  • Experience within food or meat processing environments
  • Knowledge of Lean / 5S / continuous improvement tools
  • Experience supporting audits and driving compliance standards
