Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a proactive and reliable Key Operative to support the smooth running of our Hatchery. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities, offering variety across key areas including supervision, egg handling, chick despatch, and quality control. Based in Carn Hatchery, the successful candidate will assist Skilled Operatives and Supervisors to ensure operational efficiency of Take Off Room.

What you'll do:

  • Step up as Supervisor when needed to ensure operational efficiency
  • Organise production lines and support team performance
  • Monitor egg and chick quality, hygiene, and chemical usage
  • Record and report key data across hatchery processes
  • Liaise with management and maintenance teams to resolve issues
  • Support despatch, vaccine administration, and quality checks

What we're looking for:

  • It is essential that applicants be literate and numerate and have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer literacy is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production environment
  • Flexible and willing to work across different hatchery areas
