Location: Hyde
Shift Pattern: 3 week shift rotation
Provide technical support and advice to ensure current technical standards, customer requirements for Food Safety, Legality, Integrity and Authenticity are maintained and enhanced where appropriate. To support all audits on site to ensure the auditor receives information in a timely and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Safety & Food Quality
- Promote a strong culture of food safety and quality across the site.
- Reduce hazards and incidents through root cause analysis and coaching.
- Track, report, and improve safety and food safety performance.
- Technical Excellence
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Quality Standards (FSQMS).
- Drive Food Safety & Quality Culture through engagement and collaboration.
- Act as key contact for production issues, non-conformities, and CAPA plans.
- Lead/support technical projects, audits, and corrective actions.
- Conduct investigations (e.g., microbial complaints) and share learnings.
- Support trials to meet food safety and quality criteria.
- Deliver training on core technical skills.
- Team & Collaboration
- Contribute to team goals and training plans.
- Model company values and ideal behaviours.
- Collaborate across functions and provide cover when needed.
- OPEX & Continuous Improvement
- Set, raise, and confirm standards for safety, quality, and operations.
- Use data and OPEX tools to identify root causes and guide decisions.
- Support operational improvements, validations, and new product launches.
- Customer & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company and 3rd party standards via inspections and line walks.
- Investigate issues and drive shared learning across the business.
Essential Criteria
- Strong working knowledge of BRC and industry regulations
- Experience in Technical/Quality within Food Manufacturing Environment
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Ability to organise & prioritise workload
- Strong problem-solving skills
- IT Skills - proficient use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to write reports & risk assessments
- Good attention to detail
- HACCP & Food Safety Level 3
Desirable Criteria
- Foundational knowledge of Food Safety/Technology or another appropriate discipline
- Involvement in leading 3rd party audits
