Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a varied role with responsibility for critical site utilities and infrastructure? Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a Site Services Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of essential site services equipment, ensuring the factory operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a range of plant and utilities equipment, contribute to continuous improvement projects, and play a key role in maintaining compliance, safety, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and repair site services equipment including boilers, cooling towers, compressors, effluent treatment systems, pumps, motors and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Support factory start-up activities and ensure the smooth operation of site utilities.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Manage and close out equipment failures, work orders and PPM activities using CMMS/Holistech.
  • Monitor plant performance and provide technical feedback and recommendations.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Safety requirements.
  • Support emergency response activities, including fire alarms and environmental incidents.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, meter readings and parts usage.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance.

Essential Criteria

  • Engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience within a technical engineering environment.
  • Good understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes and utility systems.
  • Experience using a CMMS maintenance system (e.g. Holistech).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and shift patterns.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within an FMCG or chilled food manufacturing environment.
  • BOAS qualification or sound theoretical understanding of steam boiler operation.
  • Previous utilities or site services experience.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants and effluent systems.
  • Experience working in hazardous areas.
  • Asbestos Awareness certification.
  • Refrigeration plant familiarisation.
