About the Role

The European Head of Ethics & Compliance is responsible for implementing and maintaining a best-in-class compliance program for Pilgrim’s Europe, which includes twelve trading companies such as Pilgrim’s UK, Moy Park, and Pilgrim’s Food Masters UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and protect the company’s reputation by providing timely and high-quality ethics and compliance advice to all areas of the business, either directly or by engaging external advisers.
  • Initiate, design, develop, maintain, and revise compliance policies and procedures, considering internal and external factors, emerging risks, and the global compliance framework.
  • Create and implement annual compliance communication and training plans.
  • Prepare monthly reports on compliance performance and participate in global compliance leadership calls.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, HR, Finance, and other units to develop metrics for risk identification, measurement, and testing of controls.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging risks to maintain a top-tier compliance program.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate the Ethics & Compliance team to achieve excellence.

The role includes responsibilities in Vendor Management, GDPR, Anti-Corruption, Criminal Finances, Whistleblowing, and Anti-Trust Compliance.

Candidate Requirements

  • UK-qualified lawyer or compliance professional with extensive experience managing complex compliance issues within a multinational group.
  • Approximately 8 years of proven experience in the compliance field.
  • Strong skills in gathering, organizing, and analyzing information to develop appropriate actions.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively within a team to establish a top-notch compliance program.
