Job description
The Bagging Machine Operative is responsible for operating and monitoring the bagging machine within a frozen chicken production environment. The role involves ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the equipment while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the correct filling and sealing of bags.
- Carry out regular quality checks on packaging (seal integrity, weight accuracy, labelling, and product presentation).
- Promptly identify and address any defects or non-conformances.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and minor repairs to minimise downtime.
- Report any technical issues requiring maintenance support.
- Complete all relevant production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Adhere to health and safety, hygiene, and cold-store working practices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams.
Shift pattern
Monday to Friday – 22:00-06:00
Salary
Starts from £27,897 per year, £574 per week.
