Shape the Future of Agricultural Supply!
We’re looking for a strategic and analytical Agricultural Planning Manager to establish and lead a critical planning capability within our Central Planning function.
This is a unique opportunity to build agricultural planning from the ground up—developing both short-term and long-term supply strategies that align farming, procurement, and production. You’ll play a key role in influencing senior decision-making, providing data-driven insights directly to executive leadership.
As part of the Pilgrim’s Europe way of working, this role is office-based, supporting collaboration, visibility, and effective cross-functional engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the coordination of demand vs supply across S&OP and S&OE cycles
- Develop short-term (daily/weekly) and long-term (12–36 months) supply plans
- Align internal farm production with external supplier requirements
- Manage volume, specification, and supply profiles
- Identify and communicate risks and constraints
- Build robust planning scenarios (e.g. sourcing mix, cost changes, supply shifts)
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Provide recommendations to the BU Executive Director and senior leadership
- Monitor UK agricultural markets (including animal price benchmarks)
- Track feed costs and production trends
- Integrate external market data into planning assumptions
- Design and implement standardised planning processes
- Establish effective planning cadence (weekly/monthly)
- Improve data accuracy, visibility, and reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Agriculture, Procurement, Finance, and Planning
- Monitor and drive performance across key metrics:
- Supply adherence
- Delivery reliability
- Specification alignment
- Cost vs budget/benchmark
- Establish KPI baselines and reporting frameworks
- Lead and develop capability within the agricultural planning function
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
What We’re Looking For
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Proven experience within poultry or pork supply chains (essential)
- Experience with scenario modelling and planning tools
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a developing / low-maturity environment
- Advanced Excel, dashboards, and presentation skills
Qualifications:
- Degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Economics or similar
- Experience within the poultry or pork industry (essential)
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Experience with QLIK or similar data tools
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Agricultural planning function successfully established
- Structured planning processes and cadence embedded
- Improved supply alignment and delivery performance
- Strong data accuracy and KPI visibility
- Delivery of initial cost-saving opportunities
