My job Pilgrim's Europe is a leading food manufacturer, and we are currently looking for Mixing room operative to join our dedicated team in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive workplace with great opportunities for development.
Job Purpose
To efficiently operate, maintain, and manage heavy-duty mixing machinery while ensuring seamless workflow in a high-pressure production environment. The role demands exceptional physical capability, technical problem-solving skills, and teamwork to meet stringent production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Maintenance: Safely assemble, dismantle, operate, and troubleshoot industrial mixing machinery. Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly. Adhere to strict operational protocols and safety guidelines.
- Material Handling: Decant 15kg baskets of raw materials throughout the shift. Manually push tubs weighing 180-200 kg. Ensure accurate material measurement and mixing ratios.
- Workflow Management: Maintain consistent output in a fast-paced environment to meet daily production quotas. Monitor mixing processes, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure product quality. Document batch records and maintain cleanliness in the mixing area.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with experienced production staff to resolve operational challenges.
Physical Demands
- Heavy lifting (lifting up to 25kg baskets) and pushing loads of 180-200 kg.
- Standing for 90% of the shift with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Operating in environments with moderate noise and cold.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Physical Capability: Demonstrated ability to handle heavy manual tasks repetitively.
- Technical Aptitude: Experience operating industrial machinery; mechanical assembly skills preferred.
- Stress Resilience: Thrives under pressure with minimal supervision.
