We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and engaging weekly paid Canteen Assistant to join the Catering team to support and contribute to delivering a high-quality catering and customer-facing service to Site.

Location – Westerleigh, BS37 8QZ

Shift pattern – Monday – Friday

Working hours – 06:00am – 15:00pm

Contract type – Fixed term, 12 months contract

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Stock taking
  • Preparing and serving food / beverages
  • Collecting monies and operating a cash till
  • Preparing food as required
  • Interacting with internal and external customers
  • Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests (such as buffets, engagement events etc.)
  • Complying with H&S and food hygiene requirements (to ensure in line with legal compliance)
  • Complying with COSHH and HACCP guidelines

Key requirements of the role will include:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment and/or in a customer-facing role
  • Good understanding of food hygiene requirements (ideally food safety trained)
  • Good verbal, written and numerical skills (to include handling cash)
  • Well organised and self-motivated
